In order to avoid the risk of environmental hazards, waste material in landfill sites and waste disposal facilities must be stored permanently and safely. The relevant technical regulations specify suitable systems for sealing the base and upper surface of landfill sites. Geosynthetic clay liners are used in surface sealing systems, in the technical barrier, and in intermediate and temporary sealing layers.
Taian Hongyuan Geosynthetics has won the tender of a big project in Chifeng city, Neimenggu province for two years and we have provided more than 50,000m2 for the 1st phase of the project and the main product is GCLs with HDPE geomembrane.
The geosynthetic clay liner GCL-4 combines basic GCL-4 with a layer of HDPE geomembrane which is usually 0.1-0.3mm as the requirements from the customers. The basic GCL-3 can be waterproofing while it is hydated based on the bentonite in the middle of GCL-3. The added HDPE membrane will strengthen the waterproofing while keep the permeability of the whole membrane.
Applications:
PE coating geosynthetic clay liner GCL-4 is designed for below-grade vertical and horizontal structural foundation surfaces. Typical cast-in-place concrete applications include backfilled concrete walls, earth-covered roofs, structural slabs, tunnels, and property line construction. Property line construction applications include soldier pile and lagging, metal sheet piling, shotcrete and stabilized earth retention walls. Applications may include structures under continuous or intermittent Hydro-static pressure. Where contaminated ground-water or salt-water conditions exist, use GCL-4 with contaminant resistant sodium bentonite. GCL-4 resists higher levels of the following contaminant’s: nitrates, phosphates, chlorides, sulfates, lime and organic solvents.
